Sharing Made Simple: A Practical Approach to Social Software

Welcome to the Sharing Made Simple wiki. This wiki was set up to support the Sharing Made Simple workshop which was held at the University of Manchester on 10 March 2008. The workshop, which was being organised by the Society of Archivists, was facilitated by Jane Stevenson (Archives Hub) and Brian Kelly (UKOLN).

The workshop follows on from the Sharing Made Simple workshop held in London in June 2007 (see the wiki for the event).

This wiki has been set up for use by participants at the workshop.

Participants at the workshop are invited to:

  • Register for WetPaint, which will enable you (and others) to see pages you have created and edited (although note that registration is optional).
  • Familiarise yourself with the Wiki using the Test page.
  • Read the information about accommodation, pubs, etc. for anyone planning on arriving in Manchester the previous evening. Note that participants with local knowledge may wish to contribute their own suggestions.
  • Introduce yourself to fellow participants, and describe what they hope to gain from the workshop and topics they would like to see covered.
  • View the timetable for the workshop.
  • At the event you can use the page for Topics for General Discusssion.

Please note that this wiki is intended for use by the workshop participants only. Also note that as this is a public wiki, no guarantee can be made regarding the sustainability or integrity of the content.

Note that the access permissions for this wiki were changed on 30 March 2008 - only registered WetPaint users can now edit the wiki.
